Laura Ingalls Wilder, born February 7th 1867, was an American author, who wrote the beloved “Little House” series of children’s books based on her childhood with her pioneer family.

Wilder once said that she wrote her books to preserve her childhood stories for today’s children, to help them understand how much America had changed during her lifetime.

The popularity of the “Little House” book series has increased in popularity through the years, producing a multimillion-dollar merchandising franchise, additional spin-off books and the long-running television show.

No matter how much our nation changes, the books of Laura Ingalls Wilder will continue to be an important part of its history, teaching children what it was like to grow up in late 19th century America.

Oh, while were on the subject…whether you need a Pioneer Costume or a more contemporary Hollywood Classic, Costume Craze is the place to get great American Culture and History Costumes!
