Harry Potter Actor Ready to Quit

by on Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Emma Watson, Harry Potter’s Hermione, says she does not have a ‘burning passion’ for acting and may give up her film career once she finishes the Harry Potter movies.

Watson told America’s Teen Vogue that she wouldn’t care to act again unless she felt as strongly about the character as she did Hermoine.

She added that she was struggling with the pressure of promoting “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”, to be released next month, as well as filming the seventh and eighth Potter films.

‘I don’t think I’ve ever been this tired in my life,’ Watson said. ‘I literally wear my pajama bottoms to set. I roll out of bed and put on a hoodie and some Ugg boots.’

Watson will be attending college this fall but is keeping the school a secret for now because she wants to enjoy some anonymity. But it’s believed that Cambridge University and Yale in the U.S. are in the running for her English literature and art degree.

Whether Watson decides to abandon acting or not, she’ll always be Hermione to us. Here’s a clip of Watson in the new Harry Potter film coming to theaters on Wednesday, July 15th:

by on Friday, June 19th, 2009

It’s no secret – EVERYONE loves robot costumes. No matter if you’re young or old, it’s fun to pretend that you’re taking over the world and the humans must be destroyed. LOL, here’s a great clip from Flight of the Conchords where the band sings a song in robot costumes.

These are cute robot costumes — there’s certainly nothing wrong with making a costume out of cardboard boxes.

But if you really want to get your Robot on, you should check out our new for 2009 classic Robot Costume!

This Robot Costume comes in sizes for Kids and Adults. Both Robot Costumes are available for pre-order and will be in stock very soon!

2009 Ernst & Young Awards Banquet

by on Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Last Friday, CEO Kate Maloney was honored as a finalist at the 27th Annual Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Banquet. She was one of the 28 finalists selected out of over 100 nominees. We are so proud of her! And doesn’t she look incredible in that dress?

Costume Craze employees accompanied Kate to show our support. It was certainly a night to remember. Over 1,200 people attended the event, held in the Grand Ballroom of Salt Palace Convention Center.

The evening started with a cocktail reception which included tasty hors d’oeuvres and a live jazz band. It was so much fun talking with so many intelligent and interesting people.

After the reception, we all took our seats in the gorgeous ballroom and the event began. The finalists were all asked to stand and they received a thunderous round of applause for their excellence in business.

Then, dinner was served. The food was absolutely delicious! They served beef tenderloin w/ fried onions, dijon and herb salmon filet, sweet potato gratin and vegetables. For desert we were given a choice between chocolate mousse or blueberry & mandarin orange yogurt mousse. It was out of this world!

As we ate, Utah Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert started things off as the keynote speaker, and it was an honor to hear him speak. Then, they honored each finalist by showing a video clip of each finalist being interviewed.

When Kate’s name was called, we applauded, cheered, let off noisemakers and blew horns. Heh, not to brag, but Costume Craze employees can be a loud bunch when we want to be. We made the most noise by far, and probably also the greatest mess.

After the event, we had fun taking photos – some VERY silly. When Jeff Wiseman, our V.P. of Marketing, gets in front of the camera, he turns into the world’s funniest comedian. He’s so funny!

It was quite an honor to be a part of this year’s Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. Here is a list of this year’s talented and amazing winners:

Technology: Matthew Heaton — BlueHost
Retail and Consumer Products: Jonathan Freedman, William Freedman and Charles Freedman — DownEast Outfitters

Contract services: Douglas Sayer — Premier Technology Inc.
E-Commerce: Ryan DeLuca — LLC
Social Entrepreneur: Matt Minkevitch — The Road Home
Services: Andrea Anaya — Career Step

We’ll post Kate’s video interview soon, so be sure to check back! Congratulations to all winners and finalists for being such amazing entrepreneurs and talented business leaders. It was an honor to be included among you.

World of Warcraft Commercial

by on Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Have you seen the new Mountain Dew commercial? It’s awesome! Attractive ladies in the grocery store suddenly turn into WoW characters and do battle. The commerical ends with, “Choose your side…”

It looks one of them turns into a Night Elf and the other into an Orc – pretty cool, especially since we carry both of these costumes!

Our World of Warcraft costumes, masks and prosthetic kits are in stock and ready to ship. View our full selection of Video Game Character Costumes at Costume Craze!
